It’s really good that you’re sticking to your plan. It’s interesting that your husband doesn’t have to. You must have separate finances even though you are married. It seems that you both should be on the same page to make it work. Just a thought.
We actually do share finances and have since we got married, but it’s a little more complicated and nuanced than that. I spent a lot more money than he did when we were in Japan last year, which is what spurred this no spend for me. He also works a lot of overtime and does contribute that to debt but often takes a little to spend on himself and it’s harder for me to argue with that since it’s extra pay. He’s also contributing his entire bonus toward our debt this year
