Hey everyone!
May has been quite an intense month so far. If you haven’t heard, a violent storm called a derecho rolled through last week, bringing hurricane-force winds, tornado activity, and flooding. It caused widespread power, internet, and cell phone outages. Luckily, our house is fine, we’re fine, and it seems all our friends are okay. Most of them have power back by now. We were fortunate not to lose power, though we did go without internet for a few days.
The week before that, my parents visited, so we had to clean the whole house. Then it was Mother’s Day, our 15th wedding anniversary, my birthday, and a Houston Journal Society meetup. I also recorded a podcast episode with some friends! On top of everything, I had to train two new employees at work, so my batteries have been pretty drained. Let’s just say I’ve gotten a whole lot of nothing done this month—journals, writing, blogs, even shopping. I had no time!
Because of all this my writing time has been extremely limited. I’ve made the call to keep this post to a super basic update since we’re already on the 22nd of May. If I don’t post now, I won’t post anything. I’m sorry to disappoint anyone! That just means the end-of-month recap will probably be a long one!
So let’s get to the nitty-gritty. I haven’t spent any money since the last update. We are still going strong at $10.98. While I’m more behind in my journal than I’d like to admit, I have been using my supplies, especially my new ones, to make some cute spreads. Here are the few spreads I did manage to complete during the month.
The end of May post will feature some generous birthday gifts I received, many temptations I resisted, and one that I possibly didn’t resist? Intrigue.
The tracker is the same as last update, but I’ll repost it since it still feels like an accomplishment to have survived another few weeks without going over budget.
As always, you can monitor the tracker here, or copy it and use it yourself if you’d like!
Thanks for reading! If you’ve made it this far and you’re not a subscriber already, make sure you subscribe! All the no-spend updates are free!
I enjoy comments and feedback, so let me know what you think of my progress so far! If you’re also on a no-spend or low-spend, let me know how it’s going!
I also have a little tip jar! Any tips or paid subscriptions directly go into my “quit my job to write full-time someday” savings account.
See you at the end of May!
Great to hear you and your family are okay after the storm! Happy Belated Wedding Anniversary and Birthday! Though you have been busy I’m happy to hear you have done some fun things.
